What is Automation Planner?
Automation Planner is a suite of tools that create a Keyword Driven Testing Framework, which makes the creation of automated test cases easy. It allows every tester to plan, design and execute test automation scripts and guarantees the test automation success. Automation Planner is integrated with all leading tools such as QTP, TestPartner, Test Complete and more which carry out the actual automated script execution.

Applications
Automation Planner is consisted of several applications:
- Automation Planner Designer takes out the business-logical layer apart from the test automation programming work. This allows functional testers and other subject matter experts to create and maintain automated test cases with no programming knowledge required. Automation Planner Editor allows the functional testers to create test cases either by adding an ”Item” step that performs atomic operation on application UI (User Interface) controller (Example: enter “John” in “First Name” field) or by calling “Function” step that calls that calls to a sequence of tests (Example: “Create New Customer”).
- Automation Planner Engine includes the main mechanism that executes each step in the test case. Automation Planner engine input contains the test case steps (that was generated by Automation Planner Editor). The engine follows each step, translate the step to a executable command and execute the command on the AUT (Application under Test).
- Automation Planner Runner allows the users to select which tests to execute, define the executing machine in which machine the test is going to be executed and control the test execution status.
- AP2QC allows the organization a full integration with QualityCenter. All steps can be exported to Quality Center and executed from QualityCenter Test Lab.
