QualiTest Group establishes an Onshore Test Center for Microsoft

QualiTest Group, a global provider in Quality Assurance and Software Testing services, announced today it has established a test center which will provide end-to-end testing services for Microsoft.

QualiTest presented Microsoft with a unique solution to its needs of testing a strategic set of products developed under strict guidelines and standards; establishing an Onshore test center in close proximity to Microsoft’s development centers. The Onshore model enables better control, faster response, improved communication and most importantly greater efficiencies. Following the successful establishment of over 10 dedicated test centers in the past few years for companies such as Intel, Comverse, HP and Qualcomm, this is another example of the attractiveness of the QualiTest’ Onshore testing model.

Microsoft has a long history of utilizing offshore testing to control costs and will probably continue to do so in certain cases but in this case the drive for better communication and increased efficiency while at the same time maintaining the benefits of outsourced QA and testing led Microsoft to select the QualiTest Onshore testing model. The increasing interest in Onshore IT services by companies across the industry correlates with a worldwide recognition that the quality and total cost of ownership (TCO) of offshoring has failed to deliver the expected quality and cost savings. An independent study by Forrester Research shows that over 38% of the companies now involved with offshore IT and testing are either very dissatisfied or somewhat dissatisfied with the quality of the services they are receiving. Over the last few years, the rate of dissatisfaction has increased by over 58%, while the percentage of companies reporting any level of satisfaction is down by 53%.
