QualiTest Group, the world’s second largest independent software testing company, announced today the recent completion of the first phase of a testing project for Quam, an Argentinian Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) launched by Telefonica. Using a blend of dedicated testers and crowd testing, QualiTest ensured a smooth launch of Quam’s mobile service and fulfilled the key project requirements of quality, location of testing, speed and budget.
Quam’s launch was strategic to Telefónica’s competitive position in Argentina; the brand targets young people between 15 and 25 years old, a market of about 8 million locally. Quam differentiates itself from competitors by offering simple packages with attractive prices, while still delivering the best technology from around the world. Because QUAM’s target market is young adults, the brand focuses mainly on attending customers via online channels, such as e-mail and social communities, while also putting an emphasis on on-line self-service options. Customer-facing technologies was a key factor for the brand’s success.
Telefonica chose QualiTest due to QualiTest’s extensive telco experience in delivering testing services to MVNOs, such as giffgaff in the UK, and their ability to implement and leverage testing solutions such as crowdsourcing. When Quam reached out to QualiTest, only a month remained before the planned launch, so a swift testing process was of the essence.
QualiTest created a test plan that leveraged 25 testers from the crowdsourcing community, supplemented by a dedicated testing team at a QualiTest test center. Guided by a QualiTest Senior test specialist, the diverse testing team was able to complete testing with a high-quality product in time for the launch, leading to customer satisfaction.
