Having spent over 20 years immersed in the tech industry, Alli Onni has focused her expertise on management consulting and enterprise systems. This journey is her greatest adventure, taking her across the globe and eventually back to her hometown of Austin, Texas.
Drawing from a background in tech writing and software development, Alli pivoted to specialize in process re-engineering, fully embracing 6 Sigma/Lean methodologies, and organizational change management. Motivated by its impact, she believes enhancing job quality can profoundly improve lives.
“My expertise lies not just in optimizing processes but in making meaningful changes that positively impact the workforce,” shares Alli while discussing her commitment to create a better work environment.
From an undergraduate Communication degree to a Master’s in Technical Communication and Interface Design, culminating in a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership; Alli’s academic journey has shaped her career path. It served as a segue between theory and practical application and imparted valuable lessons in how to navigate real-world challenges effectively. The focus on math and data equipped Alli with the necessary tools to make informed decisions, all the while fostering a curiosity to explore new opportunities and possibilities.
Following a career in management consulting, where she specialized in enterprise systems across various industries, Alli’s passion for technology-driven client service brought her to Qualitest. This transition allowed her to combine her diverse skill set, including programming, system configuration, technical writing, process design, engineering, project management, and change management. “At Qualitest, I’ve found my rhythm,” shares Alli, reflecting on her experience of utilizing her accumulated diverse skills to support an exceptional team. “Every day at Qualitest is both a challenge and a source of fulfillment.”
“In my year and a half at Qualitest, working on the Google SLS program with my team has been my proudest achievement,” shares Alli. “Together, we’ve tirelessly taken our performance to a new level. The dedication and spirit of collaboration within this team are truly inspiring. I enjoy every moment spent working alongside this remarkable group of individuals, making our collective success a professional milestone and a deeply rewarding personal experience.”
Alli’s cites her favorite book as “Creativity, Inc.” by Ed Catmull which examines Pixar’s approach to building an innovative culture with honest insights on how to foster creativity.
When asked which leader most inspires her, Alli effuses, “Mark Dean’s story deeply resonates with me, both as a technologist and a former member of the IBM family.” Speaking of Dean’s pioneering work to create the IBM personal computer and introduction of the color PC monitor, Alli believes it not only changed the technology landscape but also revolutionized the way we connect with the world around us.
A devotee of Dachshund dogs, Alli finds takes immense joy from their participation in the Dachshund races at Oktoberfest. Beyond her tech and professional endeavors, Alli also has a vivid artistic streak and a love of classic cars. Her 1953 Chevy 3100 (pictured below) is her pride and joy.
As a self-proclaimed foodie and “taco aficionado,” Alli is always on the hunt for the best independent food trucks. Horses have always been in Alli’s life and provide her with “moments of serenity and connection.”
Alli delights in spending time with friends and family, exploring the culinary delights of Austin, and embracing the city’s pulsating live music scene.
